To facilitate your reading of the quality material uploaded by Professors Cheila and Platias, there will be NO ADDITIONAL TAKE-HOME material from Professor Paravantis.

For his part of the exam, you will need to study what has been taught in class and is available in the e-class system. The exam part of Dr. Paravantis will be multiple choice and open book.

Αγαπητοί φοιτητές,

Εφιστάται η προσοχή σας στο ότι όλα τα αρχεία που αφορούν την ύλη του κ. Παραβάντη για την εξέταση του μαθήματος Geopolitics of Energy είναι οργανωμένα σε φακέλους στο e-class του μαθήματος, με λεπτομερή σχολιασμό που αναφέρει εάν το κάθε αρχείο είναι εντός ύλης, για προαιρετικό διάβασμα για extra credit, ή εκτός ύλης.

Μέσα στους φακέλους, θα βρείτε και έναν που περιέχει το template για το paper 2 σελίδων που πρέπει να παραδώσετε. Παρακαλείστε να έχετε το paper μαζί σας εκτυπωμένο την ημερομηνία της τελικής εξέτασης και να το παραδώσετε μαζί με τις απαντήσεις σας.

Για την εξέταση μπορείτε να έχετε μαζί σας εκτυπωμένα όσα από τα αρχεία θέλετε (μην εκτυπώσετε τα πάντα, κάντε επιλογή των λίγων πιο σημαντικών). Να έχετε επίσης μαζί σας ένα κομπιουτεράκι χειρός (δεν θα επιτρέπεται η χρήση κινητού τηλεφώνου).

The final exam which will take place on Friday, June 18, 2021, will include two parts: (A) a one-hour (6 to 7 pm) multiple choice exam on the subject matter taught by Dr. Paravantis, and (B) a two-hour exam (7 to 9 pm) containing open-ended questions on the subject matter taught by Dr. Platias. The answers to the second part may be typed in Microsoft Word (or any other test editor and included in the body of an email) and will be emailed to Professors Platias and Paravantis by 9 pm. You will need to be connected with video (and sound, when requested) during the entire three hours of the exam. Dr. Paravantis’ part of the exam will be open book.

Completing your virtual conference paper

Dear Students,

A couple of tips for completing and submitting your virtual conference full papers:

Papers should be written within the template, not in another Word document that looks like the template. So, open the template document, save it with a different name, and type your text in there.
The list of seven references at the end of the template may be too confusing to some of you, with the different formatting that required for journal papers, conference papers, book chapters, etc. It is acceptable to format all your references per APA specifications and ignore the template formating. In-text, you should still cite your sources like this: [1]; and not like this: (Paravantis, 2010). In the end, list them in the order they are cited in text (as they are listed in the template), not alphabetically.
Before uploading your final paper to e-class as an attachment to Dr. Paravantis, please give it a meaningful name that must include your last names preferably in capital letters, e.g. PARAVANTIS_PLATIAS_GEOPOLITICAL_RISK.pdf (or doc or docx).
The deadline remains June 30, 2020. Papers submitted after the midnight of that date will be rejected.

This is a reminder that on Saturday, June 6, 2020, student teams will be making their presentations in the context of the Virtual Conference of the class. Plan for no more than 10 minutes per presentation. Please have your presentations ready in Powerpoint or PDF format and upload them to e-class as a message to Dr. Paravantis with the presentation attached. The full 2-page papers are not due on Saturday, they on the date of the final exam (whenever that takes place). It is imperative that you prepare your papers in the 2014_04_msw_a4_format.doc template that is available in e-class. You have to download the template, open it, type your text in the template, and save it with a different name - do not start a new document and try to emulate the look of the template. Please name both your presentation and your final papers in CAPITAL LETTERS that will include a few keywords of your work and your final names, e.g. ENERGY_SECURITY_MEDITERRANEAN_PARAVANTIS_PLATIAS.pptx.
