By the end of the module, it is expected that the students will be able to:
 Acquire a broader understanding of the safety aspects of the ship and the transportation system
 Understand that safety is not only about methods and techniques, but also about priorities, knowledge about safe behavior, and safety culture.
 Identify and analyze risks associated with maritime supply chains
 Analyze the concept of resilience
 Conduct a Fault tree and Event tree analysis
 Understand the complexity of the human error concept
 Analyze safety protocols, plans, and measures under a cost / benefit approach
 Conduct an accident analysis
 Create a disaster preparedness response plan
 Analyze the more technical aspects of risk monitoring and estimation
 Conduct Formal Safety Assessment
